Description
Forró and the dances of Brazil’s Northeast — such as coco, ciranda, and others — are for everyone.
Beyond dance, they are cultural, political, inclusive and plural forms of expression. Increasingly practised around the world, and particularly in Europe, they are a true source of softness, connection and joy in people’s lives.
Through these workshops, we invite bodies to experience the sensations of these dances: to come together collectively with respect and joy, to communicate, have fun, inhabit the present moment, feel grounded, take flight, let go, listen to the rhythm and respect each person’s own pace.
Program
Over the course of one, two or three workshops, you will discover and practise these friendly, popular dances in a spirit of sharing and good humour.
A perfect opportunity to warm up before the Forró da Lua dances, which will take place in the evening!
Chloé de Paiva
Chloé de Paiva is Brazilian and was born in the multicultural region of Bahia, where she began dancing forró at the age of 11. Since childhood, she has taken part in traditional Brazilian celebrations and cultural events.
Today, she shares her knowledge with passion and authenticity, passing on her identity and culture to all those who wish to discover the richness of Brazil through dance.
“Every new path begins with a first step. Forró has been part of my life path since I was 11, and it is a great pleasure to share it with those who feel like joining in!”
