This year, imaginary worlds are arriving at Errobiko Festibala. Or is it the other way around? It doesn’t really matter: imaginary worlds are everywhere. Within us, of course, where they take root in the fertile ground of our minds; but also in every corner of space where we project our thoughts. Sometimes, by growing wildly in all directions like untamed plants, these image-laden thoughts end up crossing the boundary of the hand to take shape in objects we craft, paint, or sculpt. Making fragments of imagination visible — isn't that one of the finest purposes of what we call the visual arts?
The Atharri wanderer is thus invited to encounter real pieces of imagination — around a tree, under a canopy, or in the welcoming grass. Masks and marvels, carnival creatures, imaginary feasts... The creations are whimsical, the artists come from all walks of life — professional, amateur, self-taught, active in community life, living with disabilities, from the Basque Country or beyond...
A diversity of imagination, full of contrasts and uniqueness, but which, through the magic of encounters and the weaving of connections, come together to form a new tapestry — just as colorful and beautiful as the stuff of our dreams. From individual, imagination becomes collective, and without boundaries, it aspires only to feed — and be fed by — the new imaginations brought by the festivalgoers.
