Harmattan Brothers

Afro-jazz
FRIDAY 24 JULY 18:00 ATHARRI - BIG TOP

France

The Harmattan, a warm and fertile desert wind, rises from West Africa, crosses the oceans and nourishes the Amazon rainforest. Like this continental trade wind, the Harmattan Brothers travel across borders, navigate between styles, and create a free-spirited music rooted in the traditions that inspire them: jazz, Mandingue music and folk.

At the crossroads of their musical sensibilities were born rich and elegant compositions, leaving ample space for fiery improvisations.

The swaying guitar riffs, the airy notes of the trumpet and the celestial melodies of the kora carry us through captivating sonic landscapes. One suddenly finds oneself contemplating an old pond, marveling at the sunrise, or galloping through a meadow among the cows.

  • Léo Rathier — guitar, vocals
  • Dorian Baste — trumpet, vocals
  • Drissa Kini — kora, percussion, vocals
