Karla Da Silva

With Batuk, Karla Da Silva returns to the living source of samba. Born in Madureira and shaped by the nights in Lapa and the candomblé terreiros, she weaves a tapestry of vocals, drums and guitar, drawing on Afro-Brazilian roots.

 Blending samba de roda, samba chula, samba de terreiro and caboclo songs, the concert becomes a circle, a breath of life and a celebration. As much a ritual as a concert, Batuk presents an ancestral, popular and spiritual samba, where body, memory and earth beat as one.
